Sport in a business setting
Olivia Centre has long been known for going beyond standard office functions. After passion clubs and numerous community projects, the time has come for dedicated sports infrastructure. The two new beach volleyball courts, located next to Olivia Prime B, have already become hugely popular – with nearly 380 bookings made within the first weeks.
With a simple online booking system, reserving a court is as easy as scheduling a meeting in a conference room. This makes it simple for company teams to organise matches and mini-tournaments. Teams from Just Join IT, Ferchau, Griddynamics, Speeron, Graphcore, Bayer, Amazon, PwC, thyssenkrupp, Fujifilm, Speednet and Enspirion are already regular players.
Wellbeing and community
– Olivia is a place where work, learning and passions intersect every day. Sport is a natural extension of this idea, – says Maciej Olszewski, Head of Communications at Olivia Centre.
The courts are free of charge, available seven days a week and surrounded by flower meadows. They provide not only an opportunity for physical activity, but also a place to bring people together. Employees regularly form teams, while students from nearby schools also visit the courts in the mornings – including high school graduates, who used volleyball as a perfect way to release stress before exams.
Passion clubs and academic partnerships
The new sports infrastructure is part of Olivia Centre’s broader wellbeing strategy. For years, the complex has been developing so-called ambassador clubs – initiatives built around the passions of its community. These include football, volleyball and basketball clubs, running groups, Olivia Yacht Club, a photography club, and the Olivia Centre Choir, bringing together 40 people from various companies.
– Passion clubs are the foundation of Olivia’s strong community. They foster integration, motivation, and show that business is not only about work, but also about personal development and health, – says Bogusław Wieczorek, Board Representative at Olivia Centre.
Sports projects also benefit from academic partnerships with the University of Gdańsk and Gdańsk University of Technology, giving employees access to professional trainers and top-quality facilities.
Olivia Centre – more than an office
Olivia Centre proves that a modern business hub is not just a place to work, but a space where community grows. The beach volleyball courts have already become a symbol of wellbeing, integration and active lifestyle – values that shape the everyday life of Olivia’s residents alongside business.
